From November 4, 2022 post

Today, Cheri Beasley for North Carolina released her new closing ad, “Possibility,” sharing her personal story and highlighting the choice in this election. While Cheri will put North Carolinians first and focus on getting things done, Congressman Ted Budd has a record of prioritizing himself and corporate special interest groups at the expense of North Carolinians.

“North Carolina made my story possible. It’s where I started as a public defender, raised a family, became a judge, and made history as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court,” said Cheri Beasley. “But for too many, that sense of possibility feels like it’s slipping away because politicians like Congressman Ted Budd aren’t focused on us, they’re helping themselves.”

Cheri launched her “For the People” Get Out the Vote Tour in the final weeks of the campaign to reach voters across the state and encourage people to vote. She is continuing to meet with small business owners, hold community conversations on issues that matter to North Carolinians like lowering costs, supporting North Carolina’s farmers, and creating a Made-in-America economy, tour vocational and training facilities, and visit North Carolina companies. Meanwhile, Congressman Ted Budd missed more votes “than any lawmaker who will be on the ballot” while campaigning “for a promotion to the Senate.”

Read the transcript of the ad below:

“North Carolina made my story possible.

It’s where I started as a public defender, raised a family, became a judge, and made history as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

But for too many, that sense of possibility feels like it’s slipping away because politicians like Congressman Ted Budd aren’t focused on us, they’re helping themselves.

I’m Cheri Beasley, I approve this message and I’m asking for your vote because we can get things done in Washington – we just have to change who we send there.”
