Today, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder endorsed Cheri Beasley for U.S. Senate. Holder served as the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and was the first African American to hold that office.

“Cheri Beasley’s character, judgment, and tenacity are unmatched, and the proof is in her decades of public service as a state judge upholding the law, keeping the public safe, and protecting the people’s rights. She has the independence and integrity to take on special interests in the U.S. Senate and deliver results for the people of North Carolina on everything from lowering prescription drug costs and protecting abortion access, to raising wages and growing the economy. In short, she is everything her opponent is not: he voted against lowering prescription drug costs; voted against banning price gouging; and at the first opportunity, will ban all abortion access with no exceptions. At this critical moment, with the stakes for our nation so very high, make sure your voice is heard and vote for Cheri Beasley on Tuesday,” said Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chair of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC).

“Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has dedicated his entire career in service to this country and keeping our country safe and I am honored to receive his endorsement today,” said Cheri Beasley. “And as a former judge and Supreme Court Justice who has spent over two decades upholding the Constitution and keeping our communities safe, I will fight to protect our rights and uphold the rule of law in the U.S. Senate.”
