From December  21, 2021 post.

U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan was in Pittsfield yesterday to tour a facility for Globe Manufacturing Company, which is a subsidiary of MSA Safety, Inc. The company manufactures personal protective equipment, including fire fighter suits.

“Businesses like Globe Manufacturing are moving our state forward by creating good-paying jobs and supporting our economy,” said Senator Hassan. “The materials manufactured here are also essential in supporting fire fighters in New Hampshire and throughout the country as they work to protect our communities. I appreciated the opportunity to visit this top-notch facility, and I will continue working to ensure that all of New Hampshire’s innovative businesses have the support that they need to thrive.”

"The MSA Globe team was happy to welcome Senator Hassan back to our Pittsfield plant, where we’ve been designing and manufacturing innovative protective apparel for firefighters for more than 100 years,” said Bob Apel, MSA Globe Chief Operating Officer. “We are proud to be a top employer in the Pittsfield area, and we very much appreciate Senator Hassan’s support of manufacturing, innovation, and workforce development in New Hampshire. I truly believe our combined efforts are making a positive economic impact in our region, and I know they are making a difference when it comes to helping protect our first responders."

Senator Hassan is working to ensure that U.S. job training and manufacturing is competitive in the 21st century economy. Earlier this year, the Senate passed the bipartisan United States Innovation and Competition Act to outcompete China and strengthen national security. The bill has multiple provisions secured by Senator Hassan to strengthen American job training and manufacturing in New Hampshire and across the country, including a version of Senator Hassan’s bipartisan Fast Track To and Through College Act.
