From September  21, 2022 post.

In today’s Energy and Commerce full committee markup, Committee Democrats struck down a resolution of inquiry offered by Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) that would have required the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to disclose any attempts at political censorship.

H.Res.1264 comes after more than a dozen confirmed attempts from Washington Democrats since 2021 to infringe on the First Amendment right to free speech by advocating for and participating in censorship of private companies, under the guise of fighting “disinformation.”

“It’s appalling, but not surprising, that House Democrats are trying to hide their attacks on free speech,” said Rep. Carter. “The FCC works for the American people and should be upfront about whether they are involved in politically-motivated censorship. Hiding these documents is cowardly and un-American.”
