From September  12, 2022 post.

For his membership on both the Energy and Commerce Committee and Select Committee on the Climate, along with his advocacy for 5G expansion nationwide, Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) sat down with Punchbowl News to discuss the impact 5G will have on transportation as part of its series with the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CITA) on 5G's climate impact.

In Case You Missed It, here are the highlights:

ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE'S PRIORITIES

“I’ve been in the District for the last month…people are concerned, they’re concerned about the direction of this country, they’re concerned about inflation, they’re concerned about crime, they’re concerned about the southern border.”

ON THE FUTURE OF 5G

“I think we are on the cusp of a new generation of implementation. I am excited about the impacts of 5G on autonomous vehicles, telehealth, and rural communities.”

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF TELEHEALTH

“We talked about the importance of telehealth pre-COVID, and then during the pandemic, it became and integral part of our healthcare system. With accessible 5G, we will be able to expand this necessary access to care to more rural communities like some of the areas in my District.”

ON THE NEED FOR CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT

“Oversight is going to be extremely important [in the 118th Congress], making certain that the monies that are being spent, that the agencies are working together, that they’re coordinating their cooperation.”

ON PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

“Nobody loves the environment as much as we do in South Georgia. We love the outdoors, we love hunting, fishing. We love our environment, and we want to make sure that our environment is taken care of. So, we’re excited about a decrease in emissions through innovation.”
