From November 3, 2022, Newark— At about 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, the Newark Branch of the FBI shared in a tweet, that they’ve received “credible information” of a “broad threat to synagogues in NJ.” They urged members of our community to take precautions to protect individuals and facilities.

“I am aware of and disgusted by the repulsive and cowardly threats of violence against our Jewish brothers and sisters in New Jersey,” said Congressman Payne, Jr. “I am outraged by these threats and strongly condemn them and those who've made them. I believe that when people spew hate and turn to violence, harassment, and intimidation, they should be punished for their actions. No one in our community should ever have to live in fear of violence, ever. In that same vain we must take this threat seriously and remain vigilant to protect each other. I will be closely monitoring this situation and working with local authorities to ensure our community is protected.”
