Governor Jared Polis Appoints Matthew R. Zehe to the Larimer County Court in the 8th Judicial District

DENVER — Today, Governor Polis appointed Matthew R. Zehe to fill a vacancy on the Larimer County Court in the Eighth Judicial District. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Mary Joan Berenato and is effective immediately. 

Mr. Zehe is a District Court Magistrate in the 8th Judicial District, a position he has held since 2006. His docket consists primarily of juvenile matters. Previously, he was a Deputy State Public Defender in Fort Collins (1996-2006); Contract Attorney with the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Denver (1995-1996); and Law Clerk at Jesse N. Lipschuetz, P.C. (1995). Mr. Zehe earned his B.A. from Indiana University in 1991 and his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1995.
