DENVER - Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order appointing Don Wilson to represent House District 19 following the resignation of former Rep. Tim Geitner. This appointment is effective immediately and will continue until January when the legislature convenes. Yesterday, Representative Wilson was elected and will represent House District 20. In January when the legislature convenes, a State Representative will serve as representative for House District 19 and Representative Wilson will serve as the representative for House District 20.

Governor Polis was required by Colorado law to make this appointment following the Republican Vacancy Committee’s failure to choose a replacement. The committee had 30 days following Tim Geitner’s resignation to select and appoint a new representative.
