From September 17, 2021 post.

U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will allocate $1,554,752 in Housing Voucher funding to the Kauai County Housing Agency. The funding from the American Rescue Plan will make sure families in need continue to receive housing assistance.

“This federal funding will help make sure that families who are struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic can stay in their homes,” said Senator Schatz, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. “While this money will make a big difference, we’re going to keep working to bring more federal relief home to Hawai‘i.”

The new funding has been awarded to help Kauai County avoid a shortfall that could lead to families being terminated from the program and to offset Kauai County’s increased Housing Voucher costs due to assisted families’ lost wages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
