Do you think Idaho is great? If so, you don’t need to read more. If not, then please read on.
What does Ammon Bundy, a leading Idaho Gubernatorial candidate, have in common with Martin Luther King, Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Joseph Smith?
All of these people were imprisoned multiple times. For example, Ghandi was imprisoned 13 times by the ruling and highly civilized British Empire with a well-respected legal system.\As of April 8, 2022, Ammon Bundy sits in the Ada County jail. One could think, he must be guilty of something bad, or he would not be in jail. Only bad people go to jail.
Or could it be, like the above freedom fighters and many others like them, were imprisoned by those in power, because they were a threat to their lust for power and personal gain?
Could it be that, over the decades, those in power have grown increasingly corrupt, and increasingly unconstitutional?
Could it be that those in power are offended by Ammon Bundy and his desire to be a public servant rather than a tyrant and that his campaign to Make Idaho Idaho again, is too radical for the legacy politicians, bureaucrats and courts who are comfortable in their self serving, good ole boy/girl politics?
Ammon Bundy, in the tradition of Davy Crockett and our founders, chose to run for political office, not to be a tyrant and to leverage his office to make many millions of dollars like the Clintons, like Harry Reid, like Brad Little, but to actually be a public servant and to really serve the people of Idaho and make Idaho great and good, based on the fundamental principles espoused by the founders and the pioneers who settled Idaho.
To that end, Ammon Bundy performed 1000’s of hours of public service, spending much of his own money, to crisscross Idaho, discussing with people fundamental principles regarding the US and Idaho Constitutions, listening to the people regarding their concerns, questions, and suggestions on how to return Idaho to its greatness.
Some people call Ammon Bundy a far right extremist, anti-government and a threat to the comfortable, established order of things. If wanting to be a public servant, if wanting to restore Idaho to its “goodness” and its “greatness” is extreme, then he qualifies. But to call Ammon Bundy a dangerous extremist, is like Neptune and Uranus calling the Sun a dangerous extremist because the Sun is not in their orbit.
