From February 03, 2022 post.

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a combat veteran and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after the president announced that a U.S. Special Operations counterterrorism mission overnight in northwestern Syria killed Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, the leader of the Islamic State militant group.

“Wiping a deadly terrorist off the face of the planet is always good news. This successful mission was only made possible by the fearless and exceptional work of the United States Special Operations Forces. Day in and day out these brave men and women are working around the globe to protect the homeland from those who seek to do America harm, and I’m extremely grateful for their work in taking out this ISIS leader. The fight isn’t over; the administration must present a clear and complete strategy to counter violent extremist organizations throughout the world in order to continue to keep Americans safe.”
