From September 7, 2022 post.

Congressman Ed Case (HI-01) issued the following statement on the U.S. Navy’s recent release of a supplement to its defueling plan for the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility:

“This proposed plan is an important step in a process that must be pursued as quickly and deliberately as possible toward our goal of the safe and full defueling and closure of Red Hill,” said Case.

“It still must be fully reviewed and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Hawai’i as part of a full and appropriate independent oversight of the process. Full transparency and public input remain critical to maximize a successful result and regain public trust.”
