Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) announced the winners of the Congressional Art Competition for central Arkansas. This year, Rep. Hill’s office received 51 submissions from high school students in Pulaski, Saline, White, Faulkner, Van Buren, Conway, and Perry counties. “Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Congressional Art Competition – a tradition that gives our central Arkansas students the ability to showcase their unique artistic skills. This year, I was impressed by the 51 submissions and the involvement by our communities as well as the incredible talent and abilities of these students,” said Rep. Hill. “The art competition winner will have their work displayed in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel, which leads to the Capitol building. Members of Congress, Capitol visitors, and I walk the tunnel throughout the day, and I am proud that the hard work of central Arkansas student artists will be displayed for representatives across the country to see.” Judges for the 2021 competition included Donna Uptigrove, Deputy Director at the Historic Arkansas Museum and Matthew Smith, Grants Administrator at the University of Central Arkansas, and Congressman Hill's staff.

The First Place winner will have their artwork displayed at the U.S. Capitol from October 2021 through March 2022.

Our Fan Favorite Award was continued this year with over 2,200 votes being cast online by constituents in central Arkansas.  With 1,412 votes, Emily Roach was the overwhelming favorite with her work entitled “No Justice, No Peace”.  The Fan Favorite artwork will hang in Congressman Hill’s Little Rock District Office.
