WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-16) released the following statement after Leader Steny Hoyer announced that he will not be seeking reelection to House Democratic leadership after the 117th Congress.
“Congressman Steny Hoyer has been one of the most effective members of Congress during his tenure. He has been the conscience of the House of Representatives, and no one has more respect for the institution than Steny Hoyer. He is a members’ member and a role model for all to follow. While his official capacity will change, he will continue to provide leadership for all who seek his advice and he will always be my friend.” said Costa.
