U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) today released the following statement on the nomination of Sarah Bloom Raskin to serve as Vice Chair for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

“Sarah Bloom Raskin is an excellent choice to oversee the prudential supervision of our largest and most complex financial institutions. She has dedicated her career to ensuring the stability of our financial system and the strength of our economy—she understands that climate-related financial risks are systemic, and that managing them is core to the Fed’s statutory responsibility to promote financial stability. Professor Raskin is the right person for the job, and I look forward to voting to confirm her.”
