Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, a 25-year Navy combat veteran, released the following statement on Veterans Day:

“On Veterans Day, we honor the sacrifice, and service of the generations of veterans who fought to protect and defend the freedoms we hold dear. As a country, we are forever grateful and thankful for your service. And as a veteran myself, I remain committed to serving our veterans every day and holding the federal government accountable to ensure our veterans receive the benefits and care they have rightfully earned,” said Kelly, Chair of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.

Earlier this year, Senator Kelly helped pass the Honoring our PACT Act, the largest expansion of veterans health care in years that extends coverage to veterans exposed to toxins such as burn bits. The PACT Act is already in effect and eligible veterans are encouraged to apply now. Veterans already enrolled in VA care will receive a toxic exposure screening. Answers to common questions and more information is available through the VA at https://www.va.gov/PACT.
