Representative Brad Wenstrup, D.P.M. (R-Ohio) and other medical providers in Congress met with Dr. Rahul Gupta, Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), to discuss drug control strategy and the opioid epidemic. Representative Wenstrup released the following statement after their meeting:

"Ohio has long struggled with the effects of the opioid epidemic. I am incredibly concerned about the illicit fentanyl crossing our southern border, undermining our efforts to combat the opioid crisis that is devastating our families, our neighbors, and our communities," said Representative Wenstrup. "During our meeting, I conveyed the concerns that I hear from my constituents on this issue. As a co-chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus, I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress on combatting this epidemic."
