While I believe an individual payer system like auto insurance would be superior to group plans that currently dominate in our country, if we retain the current system, we should at least lower the cost of COBRA coverage and create artificial groups plans based on professions or geographic regions that provide coverage to people who do not have insurance through an employer or often lose coverage due to frequent job changes.
