Shutting down the Keystone pipeline immediately transitioned us back to energy dependence. Reversing stance on Nord Stream 2 without consequence further empowered Russia. The abysmal and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan unnecessarily cost lives and damaged international faith and confidence in The United States.
"We have been operating from a self-induced position of weakness, instead of strength. A human tragedy is unfolding in Ukraine. A domestic economic tragedy will continue to unfold at home with record inflation and gas prices.
"We must send a clear and resounding message to Russia, and to China, that the invasion of sovereign nations results in immediate exclusion from the international community.
"The severity of our situation and the tragedies that have unfolded before the world’s eyes were enabled by weak leadership. Let us be strong in our moment of weakness by returning to our policy of peace through strength."
