Sam Brown for Senate: Debt Ceiling Increase

Nevada

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

“Today, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and her fellow D.C. elites will take out a new $2.5 trillion line of credit against American workers — and Senate Republican leadership is just letting it happen. Every Nevadan and every American should be outraged by this shameless cash grab that spends away the financial futures of generations to come. Reckless spending only increases the painful cost of inflation that Americans are already experiencing.

This underscores my campaign message for new leadership. We need leaders who understand that every time the debt ceiling is raised, the United States is weakened. Out of control spending makes us incredibly vulnerable to our adversaries like China, one of the largest foreign holders of American debt. Congress should be paying down our debt, not increasing it.
