RENO, Nev. — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Capt. Sam Brown (ret.) has released a new website detailing his life story, what brought him to Nevada, and his vision of America.

A Story of Gratitude details the Afghanistan War Veteran's experiences from his small town roots and dreams of service to his deployment to Afghanistan and life after recovery from the IED explosion that changed his life forever.

"I should not have survived the explosion in Afghanistan. I remember thinking: How long is it going to take to burn to death?" says Capt. Sam Brown in A Story of Gratitude. "The fact that I am alive is a testament to the purpose I still have — to serve others."

A Story of Gratitude also provides further context on Capt. Brown's inspiration for running for the U.S. Senate.

Brown continued, "Politicians have let us down, but this is a campaign of hope, not anger. I still believe, and will always believe, that America is the greatest country in the history of mankind. When we share a unity of purpose, we are at our greatest strength; and at this historic moment, it’s our responsibility to come together, return to the principles of our founding documents and unite behind new leaders."
