Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), Whip of the Democratic Women’s Caucus and a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, introduced the HHS Reproductive and Sexual Health Ombuds Act of 2022, legislation to increase access to reproductive and sexual health care services, including abortion, by creating an Ombuds for Reproductive and Sexual Health in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Marc LaHood, a Republican candidate for Texas State House District 121, has criticized his primary opponent, incumbent Rep. Steve Allison, accusing him of not representing the values of the district. LaHood referred to a bill Allison authored in the 87th Legislative Session, HB 445, which he alleged would mandate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices in public schools.
