Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) filed for re-election with Nebraska's Secretary of State on Wednesday.

“Today we made it official that I am seeking to continue serving the constituents of the 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska. We have a strong team and group of volunteers who are already connecting with people across all three counties in our district.

“Over the next several months, we will be connecting with voters to inform them of our legislative accomplishments including reauthorization of the CHIP IN Act, funding for Offutt Air Force Base and Camp Ashland flood repairs, securing the future of our Gold Star families, and standing strong for life.

“This election will be one of the most watched in the country because it is one of the last bastions guarding against socialism and fighting for our freedoms. While I will continue to work with my colleagues across the aisle on many issues, I will stand firm against the attempts of Bernie Sanders and the far left who seek to transform our country into something unrecognizable.

“We need to continue to strengthen our military as China and Russia continue to press their strong-armed tactics and force their ways on the rest of the world. As leaders of the free world, we need to stand firm against them and support our allies.

“I look forward to sharing more about our legislative accomplishments, and plans to guard our freedoms.”
