Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) announced today that he has been endorsed by former Nebraska State Senator and Congressman Brad Ashford. Ashford served a total of 16 years in the Legislature before serving a term in Congress representing Nebraska’s Second District.
Ashford released the following statement of endorsement:
“We need leaders at all levels of Government who have the courage and resolve to solve our nation’s most pressing problems. To solve these difficult issues, we need unifiers not dividers in Congress.
“As a Member of Congress, I had one of the highest bipartisan voting records in the House. Don Bacon shares a similar bipartisan voting record – earning the #1 ranking in America by the Common Ground Committee. Don stood with his constituents to vote for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, the Dream Act, protections for pre-existing conditions, and the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election.
“Don and I have had the privilege of developing a strong and meaningful friendship over the past several years. Despite some of our political differences, there is much we agree on. Most importantly, we believe in seeking common ground to deliver results for the people of Nebraska and keep America moving forward.
