Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) was officially endorsed by the Omaha Professional Firefighters Association (IAFF Local 385). The announcement was made by IAFF Local 385 President Trevor Towey
In his remarks, Towey noted Bacon's consistent record of defending first responders and the rights of organized labor to include the legislation he has supported in Congress. Congressman Bacon co-sponsored:
● H.R. 393 - The Federal Firefighter Pay Equity Act
● H.R. 483 - The Heroes Lesley Zerebny and Gilbert Vega First Responders Survivors Support Act of 2021
● H.R. 2586 - Firefighters and EMS Employer-Employee Cooperation Act
● H.R. 2499 - Federal Firefighters Fairness Act
● H.R 3225 - Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act
“I am honored and grateful to be endorsed by the Omaha Professional Firefighters," said Bacon. "I love our firefighters like brothers and sisters, just the way I loved my brothers and sisters in the military. Their dedication to public safety and willingness to put their lives on the line at a moment's notice are traits I deeply admire. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure they have the resources to keep the NE-02 community safe."
