Candidate for Arizona's Congressional District 1 Ginger Sykes Torres joined environmental leaders and elected officials for the annual Environment Day event at the Arizona State Capitol. The program included speeches from the mayors of Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa, and updates from a wide range of advocacy and non-profit environmental groups. Dozens gathered in the rose garden to hear remarks about climate legislation and various approaches to environmental sustainability in Arizona.
Following the event, Ginger Sykes Torres stated:
“No part of Arizona is immune from environmental changes impacting our state and economy, and neither is CD1. From water conservation to electrical vehicle infrastructure, we need leaders at the state and federal levels who are willing to prioritize new common-sense solutions to these challenges.
“As an environmental leader and small business owner, I have the experience and know-how to solve these pressing environmental issues in a way that strengthens our state’s resilience to environmental impacts while also benefiting our economy.”
