In announcing the appointment, President of the organization Dylan Baca said:

"In addition to her climate change work Ginger holds an extraordinary resume that shows her breadth of knowledge in grassroots organizations, non-profits, and the arts. Ginger's many experiences will offer a new perspective that we believe will be consequential in contributing to the growth of Indigenous Americans and other marginalized populations and communities within the state of Arizona and across our nation. Through her expertise, partnership, and passion we will be able to forge a better future not only for our Indigenous communities, but also our minority communities within the state of Arizona and across the United States.”

Ginger Sykes Torres stated:

"I am honored to join this prestigious organization and I can't wait to see what we will achieve together. I am committed to helping all Arizonans build a better future. That is why I am joining this board and that is why I am running for Congress.”

The Indigenous Peoples’ Initiative (IPI) is a youth-led organization located in Arizona that is working to combat the stereotypes and stigmatism that plagues Native American communities. Through Education and Advocacy, it is our hope that we can provide the necessary tools to youth and leaders to better suit themselves and communities to create a stronger and brighter future. It is through collaboration and unity that we can inspire positive change and work to favorably impact marginalized communities.
