Congressman Raúl Grijalva endorsed Ginger Sykes Torres for Congress in Arizona’s first Congressional District, making clear she is the best-suited candidate to beat David Schweikert in the general election.

Congressman Grijalva made the following statement:

“Today I am proudly endorsing Ginger Sykes Torres for Congressional District 1. Ginger is a mother of three, a small business owner, an environmental leader, and someone who knows how to bring people together.

“For too long, the people of this district have been represented by a Congressman who has obstructed legislation and violated the law. We need a leader in Congress who will fight to protect our environment, grow our economy, and end the gridlock. Ginger is that leader.

“I am excited about the prospect of electing the first Native American to represent Arizona in Congress. Please join me in supporting Ginger Sykes Torres as the next Congresswoman in Arizona’s 1st congressional district.”

Ginger Sykes Torres stated:

“I am grateful to Congressman Grijalva for his faith in me and am honored to have his endorsement. It would be the privilege of a lifetime to serve alongside him in the US House of Representatives.”

Since announcing her candidacy on January 26th, Ginger Sykes Torres has been endorsed by State Senator Hatathlie, State Rep. Blackwater-Nygren, the national United Farm Workers organization, and now Congressman Grijalva.
