The Office of Rural Development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded two grants in Gladwin County that will be used to purchase new vehicles for law enforcement and first responders.
“These grants will provide first responders with new vehicles to serve the community and keep residents safe,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “I am thankful for the work these men and women do each day to protect our communities and handle emergency situations.”
Gladwin County was awarded $16,700 to purchase a new patrol vehicle. The county will also provide $31,087 of its own funding to purchase the vehicle. More information is available here.
Billings Township was awarded $15,300 that will be used to purchase an emergency rescue truck with medical and fire response equipment. Additional funding will be provided by the township ($6,950) and the Gladwin Community Foundation ($10,000).
