Today, the House of Representatives passed legislation to name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Gaylord as the "Navy Corpsman Steve Andrews Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic."

Congressman John Moolenaar is a cosponsor of the legislation, which was led by Congressman Jack Bergman and supported by every member of the U.S. House from Michigan.

"This is a special honor for the late Steve Andrews and his entire family. Steve was a patriot who served our country in the Navy and then gave back to northern Michigan as an elected official and community leader. This legislation honors his life and will help future generations learn about his legacy of service. I am thankful to my friend Jack Bergman for introducing this legislation and proud of our entire Michigan delegation for coming together to honor this special hero for our state," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

The House unanimously passed the legislation this afternoon and now it goes the Senate.
