Congressman Cohen Announces Medical Research Grants

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two significant medical research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive $459,656 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for immunotherapy research. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive $406,501 from the National Cancer Institute for research on medulloblastomas.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I’m pleased that Memphis’ leading medical research institutions are receiving this significant funding for their critical research efforts. This funding is an investment in better scientific understanding and will lead to improved therapies and cures.”
