Today Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania native, Pittsburgh businessman, and decorated United States Army veteran Dave McCormick announced his candidacy to be the next United States Senator from Pennsylvania.
"All Pennsylvanians are enduring the disastrous policies that Joe Biden and the Democrats have unleashed on our Nation and I cannot stand by and let it continue," said Dave McCormick. "As a combat veteran, I watched the Biden Administration's disastrous handling of our withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the way he has continued to project weakness to the world. At the same time, in my business career I've seen wokeness damage our great companies and hurt good people. Weakness and wokeness are on the march across all of society. They are threats to our country’s future and antithetical to who we are as Pennsylvanians. I am running for Senate to stand up to the movement of weakness. I owe all of my success to the American values I learned on my family's farm in Bloomsburg. I know what it takes to win. I'm battle-tested, Pennsylvania true. And that's how the people of Pennsylvania can rest assured that I will never let them down."
Dave announced his campaign with two new campaign ads that will run statewide. The first spot highlights Dave’s record as a fighter – from his time on the wrestling mats of his Bloomsburg High School, to those at West Point, to fighting for freedom in the deserts in Iraq, and fighting for capitalism in the business world. The second spot stars Dave’s childhood friends, who describe what it was like growing up in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
Dave is running to defend the American Dream for future generations from the radical left. He is the only candidate in the race qualified to stand up for America to our Chinese adversaries, restore energy independence to our Commonwealth and security to our border, and fight for the American worker. He is the only candidate with the roots, experience, and vision to fight and defend the America First agenda.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick attended Bloomsburg High School where he bussed tables, was a varsity athlete, and worked on his family's Christmas Tree farm. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and went on to become an Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne where he served in the first Gulf War, earning a Bronze Star Medal for his service in combat. McCormick later returned to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and led a successful business in Pittsburgh, creating jobs and spurring economic growth in the Steel City. He has also served in senior roles in the United States Commerce Department, Treasury Department, and on the White House National Security Council, where he negotiated on behalf of the United States, and went on to lead one of the world's foremost investment firms as chief executive officer.
