Today, Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) voted against the American Rescue Plan.

“This legislation is nothing more than a partisan Democrat wish list that will continue funding liberal pet projects, rather than providing actual COVID relief to the people of my district,” said Rep. McClain. “When only 9% of this spending goes directly to COVID relief, it’s hard to even call this a COVID relief bill.”

The American Rescue Plan is filled with unnecessary pork and provides $12 billion in foreign aid, $15 billion for illegal immigrant-eligible health care, $350 billion to bail out blue states, $50 million for Planned Parenthood, $1.5 billion for Amtrak and $21,000 for federal employees to stay home.
