Vladimir Putin and Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine cannot be tolerated. The United States must stand united with our allies. The time is now to impose massive costs on Russia, defend our NATO allies, and to ramp up U.S. and NATO intelligence sharing and military assistance to help Ukraine defend itself.
We will not allow the Russian government to divide our alliance, and we must reject the idea that the Kremlin can dictate with whom our European friends can ally.
Once again, Russia’s actions are putting lives at risk. As expected, Putin has begun the invasion in the Donbas region, and we must speak very clearly that full-scale war in Ukraine will be a humanitarian disaster. Vladimir Putin has a stark choice to make: de-escalation and diplomacy now, or confrontation and drastic consequences.
