Today, nearly 80 faith leaders from across North Carolina endorsed Cheri Beasley for U.S. Senate. The pastors and community leaders praised Cheri for the strength of her values and the trust she has built with faith communities over her years as a public servant. Earlier this week, nearly 80 current and former elected officials and community leaders backed Cheri’s campaign.

“Cheri Beasley is the leader we need to stand up for justice across all communities in North Carolina,” said Reverend Dr. Gregory Moss. “As a tireless champion of those in need and as a leader guided by faith, I know that Cheri shares North Carolina’s values, and I am excited to endorse her for the United States Senate.”

“Cheri has built strong relationships with communities and people of faith all across North Carolina as a statewide leader,” Reverend Dr. J. Elvin Sadler said. “Cheri’s values and distinguished career are grounded in the tenets of faith, that every person should be treated with dignity and respect, and that working people and oppressed communities should be the focus of our fight for justice. Cheri has earned the trust of faith communities across North Carolina, and I am proud to endorse her candidacy for the United States Senate.”

“My mom taught me the importance of faith in my life, so it is humbling and exciting to earn the support of so many faith leaders as we kick off this campaign to build opportunity for all North Carolinians,” Cheri said. “The door of opportunity should be open to everyone in our state who works hard — not just the wealthy and well-connected. Together, we’re going to deliver that message loud and clear in Washington.”
