WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), along with the entire Tennessee delegation, led a U.S. House resolution to celebrate and honor Tennessee’s 225th birthday.

“On June 1, 1796, Tennessee became the 16th state admitted to the Union. For the past 225 years, the great state of Tennessee has become integral to our country’s culture and history. As the birthplace of Country music, the Blues, the best barbecue, and home to Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton, Tennessee has much to offer and I am thankful to call the Volunteer State home,” said Rep. Kustoff. “With this Resolution, the U.S. House of Representatives officially recognizes and celebrates the 225th anniversary of the entry of the State of Tennessee into the United States. I am honored to lead this resolution with all of my colleagues from Tennessee as we celebrate our state’s 225th birthday.
