On January 6, 2022, Reps. Gaetz and Greene held a join-press conference further spreading misinformation about the insurrection on our nation's capital one year earlier.
During the conference, even though Gaetz falsely-billed the event as the "Republican" response to the grim anniversary, Gaetz attacked the "establishment GOP," suggesting Ted Cruz had to "bend over" to please them by condemning the riots on January 6, 2021.
He also used the term "feds-erection" to describe his conspiracy-laden rant about how it was not the people who were arrested or video recorded breaking into the capital building, attacking police officers, stealing documents, and threatening members of Congress, but rather secret federal employees of agencies he could not identify.
