Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. David Kustoff (TN-08) introduced a bill to name the courthouse in Jackson, Tennessee after Judge James D. Todd. Through this legislation, the building utilized as a United States Courthouse located at 111 South Highland Avenue in Jackson, Tennessee will be known and designated as the “James D. Todd United States Courthouse.” This measure is supported by every member of the U.S. House of Representatives in the Tennessee delegation.

“A native Tennessean, Judge James Todd has dedicated his life to serving his community and country. For almost four decades, Judge Todd served as the District and Senior District Judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Nominated by President Ronald Reagan in June 1985 and confirmed by the Senate a month later on July 10th with no objection, he has worked tirelessly to improve and better our country,” said Rep. David Kustoff. “I am just one of the many individuals who has been positively impacted by knowing and working with Judge Todd. I was privileged to have been sworn in by him in 2006 as I became the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. He is a well-respected member of the judiciary and our community in West Tennessee. Now, after 36 years in this position, Roberta and I congratulate Judge Todd on his years of great work and dedicated service, and wish him every happiness in retirement. I am grateful to introduce this legislation to honor him, his wife Jeanie, their children, and the rest of his family.”
