Supreme Court Upholds Second Amendment

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a New York state law that required citizens to demonstrate "proper cause" to obtain a concealed carry permit is unconstitutional.

"Today's ruling is a win for law-abiding citizens who safely exercise their Second Amendment rights. Crime is a serious concern for American families and they have the right to self-defense. New York’s law blatantly infringed upon this right, and the Court was right to strike down this unconstitutional power grab," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Congressman Moolenaar defended the Second Amendment and the right to due process earlier this month when he voted against House Democrats' gun control legislation
