Today, Congressman John Moolenaar voted against legislation that would violate Americans’ right to due process by funding states’ red flag laws. These laws vary by state, but many of them allow courts to seize the firearms of Americans without allowing the accused to have their day in court before the weapons are seized.

“Due-process is a right guaranteed to every American, and no citizen should have that right taken away. I voted against this bill because it would take the hard-earned money of Michigan taxpayers and give it to states so they can enforce unconstitutional laws that deny Americans their due process and Second Amendment rights,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Earlier this month, Congressman Moolenaar voted against legislation that would allow federal judges to confiscate an American citizen's guns without due process or advanced notice.
