Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive two grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and a third from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). One of the NCI grants, for $444,265, will support research into acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The other NCI grant, for $227,140, will underwrite training in pediatric immunotherapy. The NINDS grant, for $503,626, will support research on genetically engineered T cells.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I am always pleased to see the National Institutes of Health investing in research and training at our premier children’s research hospital. This funding will improve our understanding of childhood diseases and help clinicians and therapists better treat our sick children.”
