Today, Derrick Anderson, candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District, received the endorsement of Senator Tom Cotton.
“Derrick Anderson has proven himself to be the fighter we need in Congress. Not only did he serve courageously overseas, but when he came home he served in my old unit, The Old Guard, laying our heroes to rest. I am proud to endorse Derrick Anderson in his bid to defeat Abigail Spanberger, and I look forward to working with him as a tough, conservative ally in Congress,” said Senator Tom Cotton.
“I am honored to receive Senator Cotton’s endorsement. His service to our country, both overseas and in Washington, is admirable. His fight for our veterans and military in the halls of Congress is needed, and I look forward to being an ally to him in the House when we defeat Abigail Spanberger in November,” said Anderson.
Derrick Anderson is a native of Spotsylvania County, a graduate of Courtland High School, was in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, and received his J.D. from Georgetown Law.
He is a former Special Forces “Green Beret” with 6 tours of duty overseas, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and various countries throughout the Middle East. Derrick was the first VA-07 candidate named to the Young Gun’s “On the Radar” list, and is being supported by SealPAC and multiple sitting members of Congress, including the only Green Beret in Congress, Mike Waltz.
