Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) released the following statement condemning bomb threats against Historically Black Colleges and Universities, including Albany State University, this morning:
“I am deeply disturbed that we have experienced two rounds of threats against Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country within a month — including today’s bomb threat against Albany State University.
“Teachers and students should never have to live under such a threat and those who would engage in these terrorist tactics should face the full force of the law and justice.
“HBCUs are proud institutions, deeply rooted in the fabric of our country’s history. They are resilient and will continue their sacred mission of educating and preparing the next generation of leaders.”
