Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) secured $225,000 for the City of Pelham, Georgia to be used for new communications technology that would support law enforcement and public safety entities as well as ensure that its system is interoperable with all public safety agencies in Georgia. The funding is part of the Fiscal Year 2022 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which was approved by the House Appropriations Committee today.

“As communities around it were able to transition to a different communications platform, the move was cost prohibitive for the City of Pelham. I am glad that this bill includes $225,000 which Pelham will use to update its system so that its public safety agencies are able to communicate with their partners throughout Mitchell County, regionally, and across the state,” said Congressman Bishop.
