Crossville, TN—April 11, 2022, U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) will participate in a National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) in-store event at the Weigel’s located on West Ave in Crossville. He will interact with employees, customers, and business owners from behind the counter, and experience firsthand the economic opportunity and wide range of products and services convenience stores provide their communities.

U.S. Representative John Rose released the following statement:

"Convenience stores in Middle Tennessee are much more than a place to grab a quick drink or some food. They are many folks' first jobs, their small businesses, and the only place to get motor fuel and competitively priced goods and services for many rural communities," said U.S. Rep. Rose. "In two terms of serving Middle Tennesseans in Congress, this will be my first time serving them from behind the counter of a Weigel's. I couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity and to partner with the National Association of Convenience Stores in-store program.”

WHO: U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06)

WHAT: NACS In-Store Event, U.S. Rep. Rose will:

  • Tour the store and speak with the local convenience retailer about issues important to the business and community
  • Receive “store associate training”
  • Work behind the counter of a local Weigel’s convenience store
WHERE: Weigel’s | 1023 West Ave | Crossville, TN 38555

WHEN: Monday, April 11, 2022 | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CT

WHY: As a small business owner and community leader representing his neighbors in Congress, U.S. Representative Rose values and appreciates the hard-work convenience store clerks display while serving their communities. As part of a series of NACS in-store events, this event will allow the Congressman to get an up-close-and-personal look at how these vital businesses address a range of policy imperatives in America. Whether it is providing a continuous source of entry-level jobs, access to competitively priced consumer products and services for rural areas or providing 80% of the motor fuels sold in the United States, Congressman Rose looks forward to learning firsthand how these businesses serve Middle Tennessee.

RSVP: Members of the press should confirm their RSVP to Dylan Jones via email Dylan.Jones@mail.house.gov ahead of the event.
