Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-6) released a statement on the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion on Dobbs vs. Jackson.

“I have been an attorney for nearly 30 years and yesterday’s leak of a draft document tied to one of the most consequential cases in the history of the Supreme Court of the United States is the most radical and unethical action I have ever seen in the legal arena.  If the Supreme Court can’t keep a secret, who can?”

“Washington is indeed a swamp teeming with self-interest and deceit.  Selfish characters lurk behind every stone pillar and in every marble hall looking to advance their own agenda above the people’s will.  It starts at the very top and yesterday it stretched its disgusting, rotten fingers into our nation’s highest court.  The American people are sick of it.  The radical insurrectionist who attempted to undermine the division of power in our government must be held accountable."

“Even with this desperate attempt by some Washington insider to cut the legs out from under an answered prayer, it appears that we may be on the cusp of a monumental decision.  Tens of millions of voices have been forever silenced by abortion since a liberal, activist Supreme Court ruled, essentially out of thin air, that the right to an abortion was implied in the Fourteenth Amendment in its infamous 1973 decision, Roe v. Wade,” said U.S. Representative Rose.  “I am overjoyed that our long, hard fight to protect the sanctity of life may finally be nearing a major win.”

A member of the Pro-Life Caucus in Congress, U.S. Rep. John Rose has co-sponsored 25 pieces of pro-life legislation this term alone and has spoken on the House floor on numerous occasions on this issue.  The Susan B. Anthony List, a leading national pro-life advocacy organization, awarded U.S. Representative Rose an “A+” rating on its pro-life scorecard.
