Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement regarding the looming closure of the Holland Coast Guard Station.

“The U.S. Coast Guard has notified my office that it intends to close its seasonal station in Holland on Lake Macatawa in fiscal year 2022. This means the station would close permanently this Labor Day. The Coast Guard believes they can adequately respond to and cover emergencies in the Holland area from its primary station in Grand Haven. However, I want to make sure the Holland community is aware of this impending closure. I encourage them to make their voices heard by submitting a comment to the notice on the Federal Register.”
