Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Co-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group, released the following statement after the Canadian Government announced fully vaccinated American citizens will be able to visit Canada starting August 9th.

“Today’s announcement from the Canadian Government is definitely welcome news, however more progress must be made. The Biden Administration should not renew the restrictions set to expire on July 21st. Additionally, travel between the United States and Canada should be fully permissible if residents are able to provide a negative PCR test prior to 72 hours of crossing the border. I encourage the Biden Administration and the Trudeau Government to continue to work together to use the best available science to safely reopen the border between the United States and Canada.”
