Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) tonight commended FedEx founder Fred Smith and Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Taylor Branch and Isabel Wilkerson on being named the 2022 winners of the National Civil Rights Museum’s prestigious Freedom Award.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Each of these recipients has made a significant contribution to our society and culture and it is fitting that they will receive the Freedom Award this year. I congratulate them and commend the National Civil Rights Museum on these smart choices.”

The honorees will be awarded at a gala October 20 at The Orpheum.
