U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today commented on continuing unrest in the Middle East.

“I am concerned about what is happening in and around Jerusalem and agree with President Biden’s national security team that restraint must be exercised and steps must be taken to de-escalate growing unrest and denounce violence,” said Rep. Pascrell. “The reported illegal evictions of Palestinian families from their homes is unacceptable and raises serious concerns for peace and stability in the region. The launching of rockets from Gaza towards Israeli streets is also unacceptable and contemptable. Regional leaders must be advocates for ensuring calm by denouncing these actions. The United States led by President Biden must do all we can to end this recent spate of violence before more destruction occurs.”
